Living in the city often means compromising on peace and privacy. However, Fabio Su's Corner Paradise challenges this notion. The building's exterior, constructed with horizontal and vertical lines, white rock sheets, fair-faced concrete, and a grid window layout, presents a timeless beauty that stands out amidst the cityscape. The interior, on the other hand, is a haven of tranquility, featuring an atrium with a green landscape and a swimming pool.
The design's uniqueness lies in its strategic placement within a traffic-heavy city corner. Despite the noise and bustle, Corner Paradise offers a serene environment through its interior landscape. The building's stable geometric patterns prevent passersby or neighbors from peeking into the house, ensuring the utmost privacy.
The realization of this design involved the use of various materials such as fair-faced concrete, natural rock sheets, granite wall stones, marble, ironware, glass, cypress, cedar, and big thin quartz slabs. The building covers a lot size of 484 square meters, with an internal floor space of about 780 square meters. It includes a garage, atrium swimming pool, living room, cooking and dining area, video room, meeting room, four bedrooms, maid room, sitting room, and study room.
Corner Paradise is not just a design marvel but also a smart home. The strategic window placement on the facade minimizes light pollution, while the open space in the middle of the house, featuring a swimming pool and a huge tree, offers a natural retreat. The living room with high ceilings and a spacious conference room cater to social gatherings, making the house user-friendly and eco-friendly.
The design, completed between 2013 and 2017 in Chiayi City, Taiwan, faced several challenges. The wall in the audio-visual room, artistically designed with different cuts and shapes of wood, makes use of wood chips, promoting recycling and environmental conservation. The major living room uses a large quantity of granite combined with decorative furniture, creating an elegant yet user-friendly space.
Corner Paradise has been recognized for its innovative design and was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. Fabio Su's design indeed embodies these qualities, offering a unique blend of nature and modern architecture.
